Karen L. Arnett

Karen Arnett

A resident of Miramar Beach, Florida, and native of Valparaiso, Indiana, Karen L. Arnett earned her B.A. in History and Government from Luther College in 1969. She graduated and received her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1972. While in law school, Karen was a member of the Moot Court team and earned “The Book Award” in UCC: Secured Transactions.

Karen was admitted to the Indiana State Bar in 1972, and the Florida State Bar in 2002, where she earned the top bar exam score on the February 2002, exam. Honored by the Florida Supreme Court for this accomplishment Karen, was chosen to speak on behalf of the candidates at the Ceremony for Induction of Candidates to the Florida Bar in May, 2002.

Throughout her career, Karen has worked on a variety of legal issues. She now concentrates primarily on Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, Asset Protection Planning, and Condominium Law.

Karen is an active member of both the Walton County Chamber of Commerce and the Destin Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Florida Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Okaloosa-Walton Bar Association. She has also served on the Police Merit Board, Emergency Medical Services Board, and Planning Commission in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Karen is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, the State of Indiana, all federal district courts for the State of Indiana, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.           back to top

Jane E. Kerrigan

Jane Kerrigan

A resident of Grayton Beach, Florida, and native of Valparaiso, Indiana, Jane E. Kerrigan earned her B.S. in Marketing and International Business from Indiana University in 2001. She graduated and received her J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law in 2004.

While in law school, Jane served as Managing Editor of The Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. She also interned with the Honorable Richard L. Young, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

Jane was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2004, the Indiana State Bar in 2005, and the Florida State Bar in 2008. Jane began her career in a mid-sized law firm in downtown Chicago, Illinois which focused its practice in litigation.


Jane handled numerous cases and gained valuable experience concerning: Products Liability and Civil Defense litigation, Condominium Law and General Business Law.

Jane is an active member of both the Walton County Chamber of Commerce and the Destin Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Florida Bar Association.

Jane is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, the State of Indiana, the State of Illinois, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.           back to top

Casey L. Jernigan

Casey Jernigan

A resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and native of Brewton, Alabama, Casey L. Jernigan earned her B.S. degree in Political Science with a minor in Journalism from the University of Alabama, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1995. She graduated and received her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, magna cum laude in 1999. While in law school, Casey served as Senior editor of the Journal of the Legal Profession, where she authored The Absolute Privilege is Not a License to Defame, 23 J. LEGAL PROF. 359 (1998-99). She also was a member of both the Farrah Law Society and the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society.

Casey was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1999, and the Florida State Bar in 2006. After securing her bar license, Casey worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Sharon Lovelace Blackburn, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama, from 1999-2001. Thereafter, she entered private practice where she concentrated on commercial litigation for a mid-sized firm in Birmingham, Alabama. After relocating to Florida, Casey focused her legal skills on various areas of law including, but not limited to: Business and Commercial Law, Contract and Business Transactions, Condominium Law, Class Action Litigation, and Commercial Litigation.

Casey is an active Member in both the Walton County Chamber of Commerce and the Destin Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Association, and the Okaloosa-Walton Bar Association.

Daniel S. Frankfurt

Daniel Frankfurt

A resident of Destin, Florida, and a native of Miami Beach, Florida, Daniel S. Frankfurt earned his B.S.M. degree in Sports Marketing from Tulane University in 1999. He graduated and received his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2002. While in law school, Daniel acted as the Treasurer for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and was a Board Member of the Pro Bono Law Society.

Daniel was admitted to the California State Bar in 2002, and the Florida State Bar in 2003. In private practice, Daniel obtained a tremendous amount of courtroom experience as a Criminal Defense attorney. He has accomplished much success trying many cases in both bench and jury trials. Daniel’s experience has made him a diligent litigator. He also has experience in various civil areas of law, including, but not limited to: Construction Defect Law, Contract Law, Probate law, CLass Action Litigation, and Civil Defense Litigation.

Daniel is an active member of both the Walton County Chamber of Commerce and the Destin Chamber of Commerce, where he is an Ambassador. He is also a member of the Florida Bar Association and the California Bar Association. While in San Diego, Daniel served as the Chairman of the Community Service Committee for over five (5) years with the local San Diego County Bar Association.

Tammy Turberville

Tammy Turberville

Graduating with Honors in 1987, Tammy began her legal career in 1994 working with the Law Offices of David D. James, in Shelby County, Tennessee, through 1999. After a period of time working with a well-known accounting firm, she turned her attention back to law in 2001 taking the position of Deputy Court Clerk for the Probate Court of Shelby County, Tennessee until 2003. In 2004, she began work as a paralegal for the Law Firm of Philip J. Cooper where she became keenly interested in Estate Planning and Estate Administration. Moving to the Destin area, Tammy began working with Karen Arnett at Chesser & Barr in March of 2007 and moved to Arnett Law when Karen Arnett began her firm in July. She is now the administrative lead for Arnett & Kerrigan P.L.

Laurel Abbe

Laurel Abbe

Laurel’s connection to Arnett & Kerrigan began with her singing next to Karen Arnett in the Faith Assembly church choir. Arnett & Kerrigan, PL believes in community involvement and with Laurel’s strong background in marketing and events, she was tapped to not only assist on the administrative side, but to set up marketing efforts and seminars for the firm. To that end, Laurel handles the advertising and marketing; she is the one to speak to about attending one of the firm’s educational seminars; and she coordinates their participation with charitable activities, sponsorships and community events.
